  • mood: giddy like a school girl (Okay, not really...)

hou- Yeah, I went to school today. There's just a few of us in grades 7-12 and we were all situated in one room and forced to choose a cubicle to live out the rest of the school year in. The computers are very neat. I'm not sure what type of harddrives they were, but they were pretty small. The keyboards felt far more comfortable than my own and the mouse was LASRZ! wh00t! Yeah, and the monitor was flat too. Isn't this interesting!? They gave us a while to customize the computers how we liked it, so I downloaded (That's right! Internetz!) the same background I have for my MySpace profile and my standard Gir cursor. Then we had to watch a horribly boring DVD about how to do the lessons, then... we did the lessons. That's about it. Squee.

And tonight I am watching the second movie of the Matrix trilogy. I know I haven't seen them all, but if I were to sum up these movies in two words, those words would be "teh funnayz." Really, they're as hilarious as the descriptions on the movie cases make them out to be. From watching The Animatrix, I thought they were going to be very, very serious; tragic, even, as The Animatrix is at times, but these movies just seem like spoofs, in the vein of Snakes on a Plane or the live-action Batman show. Keanu Reeves's monochrome acting and the decidedly insane, unrealistic action are particularly amusing. The fact that the cutest character died in the first movie makes me sad though. I'm rambling.

This music video is amazing. Erica is cool for showing it to me.

    That's all for now, sillehs...

ytmnd of teh post: Super-Washington Crossing the Delaware. No, there isn't some inside joke you're missing. This ytmnd has no point at all, and that's why I like it.

mood: alone (don't ask... or do)

mmyes. To summarize this post, this was the summer of musical enlightenment. I counted a couple days ago, and there are 8 bands or musical artists that I pretty much just discovered this summer: Hyde, Gackt, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, L'Arc~en~Ciel, Dir en Grey, and Apocalyptica. (I also really like a couple songs from MUCC, Kรถzi, Bump of Chicken, Noodles, BUCK-TICK, Moi dix Mois, and X Japan, but I really do not have the time or money to get obsessed with them too, lol) 5/6 of the aforementioned are Japanese (the last one is from Finland), thus making me feel even more like a total geek. My friends insist that it's cool that pretty much all the music I like is Japanese, but it makes me feel like an "Asiaphile", which is basically a non-Asian who loves everything Asian (or just Japanese in my case) simply because it's Asian and hate their own culture because it's not. I like to think that I'm not a dreaded Asiaphile, but it's kind of difficult all my favorite music happens to be from the Land of the Rising Sun. I'd like to appreciate more music from this country and others, but I don't like most of the very popular stuff and I don't know where I can find out about what's good outside the mainstream scene. Any suggestions would be quite welcome. On a similar subject, it's worth noting that none of the artists on my playlist are Christian either, which does make me sad. I try some of the music suggested by the Christian media reviewer "PluggedIn", but they're selected specifically as holier alternatives to mainstream music, so they sound pretty similar to it. bleh. So basically (I use that phrase WAY too much.), what I'm asking is for suggestions for any Christain bands that sound original and good. yup...

Yeah, I know, this is one of my most boring weblogs yet. I'm sorry. Tell me what you think would be intersted to read about and I'll try to write about it. :)

ytmnd of teh post: Solar System's MySpace. In light of recent events, I find this ytmnd just oh-so-tragic.

    mood: uber-nerdy

Ian is a dork. I am upset with him. This is me being angry: grrrr... Ohh, I'm so angry that I'm going to write a new paragraph.

k, so anyways, I'm really bored right now. I should be working on decorating Ian's birthday card envelope, but my petty feud with that kid is preventing me from doing that right now. Oh well. Olivia was supposed to come over again today, but my mom has a phobia of having children over when there's no adults here. bleh. Well, because of this epic boredom, I decided to pump my horrid geekishness up to another level by actually making a *deep breath* JRock fanvideo. >.< *cough* Yeah... It's made of two clips of Gackt that I found on Limewire while looking for his music. It is educational and only 21 seconds long, so that's a plus. :) It's just a shame that Olivia, Erica, and I are the only people I know who'd get this...

...and I LIKE the song in it, so shush.

Oh, and in totally unrelated news (and the only eventful thing to happen today), Gloria was messing with my window and it fell on her, shattering and cutting her hand. I felt bad for her, but it was pretty funny too. Remember: It was not curiously that killed the cat. It was carelessness.

ytmnd of teh post: Maybe I've gone too far... My, that is uncanny...

    mood: full of cucumber-y goodness

Well, as some of you may or may not already know, I have returned from my exploits in North America's own Disneyworld. Sure, it was a lot of fun... maybe...

By the way, sushi is AWESOME. Don't let anyone tell you differently.

um.... yeah... I'm a bit too lazy to go into my dusty backlogs of memories to tell you of what adventures I had in the magical world of ded-guy-whose-name-starts-with-W. I did spend all of my $200 there though, so I'll just take a picture of the junk I had when I got back from Disneyworld that I didn't bring with me. They say a picture's worth a 1000 words, right? whatever authority "they" have to denounce the value of any given photograph...

Keep in mind that I didn't purchase 100% of all the items shown in this picture (nor are 100% of the items I purchased intended for my use). The chair in particular certainly did not come out of my budget. Actually, that didn't come from Florida at all; but now I'm just being weird.

The three CDs pictured, the I am 8bit book, and the NES controller CD case were all bought by me at the Virgin Megastore. Yes, all three CDs originally premiered in Japan. Yes, I phail at life, but it's something I happily live with.

I couldn't fit another item I got in that first picture so I just took a separate one... It supposedly has my name in Chinese written on it, but I can't be sure because of my lack of Chinese-reading prowess. The guy who wrote it seemed pretty grumpy, so what's written there could just as well be "I ate your children" for all I know...

    One more thing:

    That is all.

    Quote of teh Post:
"When we bend a scary corner
    "I feel like
"I'm gonna give me some good clothes
    "Make you want yeah!
"Your dancing feet!" ~lyrics to "Heart is There" by the Pillows. This song reminds me of one of the reason I love Japan so much. Engrish rocks my socks, lol.

ytmnd of teh post: Owls have rly good eyesight. I <3 owls.
